We are at 34 Camp Street, Gardens, Cape Town, 8001 — a two-minute walk from Kloof Street and a short uphill walk from the lower slopes of Table Mountain. The Company's Garden and the city centre are five minutes by car.

InAweStays is a heritage guesthouse with six self-catering accommodation options — House Awe (the main historic house) and five cottages. Each has its own private entrance, kitchen or kitchenette, and bathroom. No shared corridors, no hotel lobbies. You have your own front door.

Yes. Free fibre Wi-Fi is included in all accommodation.

Standard check-in is from 14:00 — but we are flexible. If you need to arrive earlier, let us know and we will do our best to have your cottage ready or look after you in the meantime.

Check-out is at 10:00 — but flexibility is part of how we do things here. If you have a late flight, need to store luggage, take a shower or simply want to spend a last hour in the garden, we will always try to accommodate you. Just ask us the evening before.

Yes. Off-street parking is available on the property for all guests.

Yes — there is a pool in the shared garden, available to all guests. It has featured in more than a few reviews.

House Awe is the main heritage house — four bedrooms, four bathrooms, sleeps 8 to 10, minimum six nights. The five cottages are: Garden Cottage (2 bed, sleeps 4), The Jade Cottage (2 bed, sleeps 4–6), The Loft (1 bed, sleeps 2), Olive's Cottage (1 bed, sleeps 2), and The Studio (open plan, sleeps 2). The Jade Cottage and The Loft both have HVAC units for heating and cooling. Portable heaters are available in all other cottages on request — Cape Town winters are mild but the mountain makes evenings cool, so it is worth asking.

House Awe has a full kitchen — proper stove, oven, the works. All five cottages have kitchenettes: equipped for self-catering with the essentials for preparing meals, making coffee and storing groceries. If you are planning to cook seriously, House Awe is the one.

Yes. House Awe is available for stays of six nights or more. It is the full historic house — four bedrooms, four bathrooms — and we find that guests need at least a week to settle in properly.

The Loft is the one most couples come back to — light, spacious, with a deck looking straight at Table Mountain. The Studio is a good option too if you want something more compact and contemporary. Olive's Cottage is the quietest on the property.

The Loft has the best views — its deck looks directly at Table Mountain. The shared garden also has mountain views, available to all guests.

Very much so — families are some of our favourite guests. The Garden Cottage has its own private enclosed garden. The Jade Cottage can sleep up to 6 children in addition to the adults. House Awe sleeps 8 to 10. The property has a pool, a swing, a sandbox, and toys. And Ellen's pizza nights tend to go down well with children of all ages.

Yes — multiple cottages can be booked together for family reunions, celebrations or group trips. Contact us directly before booking and we will help you find the right combination.

Yes. We have hosted birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and family gatherings. The garden, the pizza oven and the dining room in House Awe make it possible to do things properly. Talk to Doreen about what you have in mind.

Yes, and it is included. Breakfast is served Monday to Friday — Yaps's flapjacks have become something of a legend among returning guests.

Yes. We have a range of people who cook here — from light lunches by the pool to a formal dinner in the dining room to a braai by the firepit. And most famous of all: Ellen's pizza nights from the wood-fired oven in the garden. Just ask us what you are in the mood for.

Yes — Cape Town has wonderful picnic spots and we know all of them. Give us a heads up and we will pack you a bag of picnic goodies.

Food Jams started in our kitchen. It is a cooking and food experience — something between a class and a feast. We are fortunate that they host Food Jams exclusively for InAweStays guests. If you would like to attend one at any of their other three venues in Cape Town, we can arrange that too.

Yes — InAweStays has always been a place with animals. Currently two large dogs and a number of cats live on the property. They are friendly and part of the character of the place. Guests who are not comfortable around animals should bear this in mind.

Yes, pets are welcome — as long as they are happy to share the property with two large dogs and a number of cats who already consider themselves in charge. Please let us know when booking so we can make the right arrangements.

Kloof Street — Cape Town's best independent restaurants, bookshops and wine bars — is a two-minute walk. Table Mountain trailheads are a short uphill walk from the front gate. The Company's Garden, the V&A Waterfront and the Bo-Kaap are all within easy reach.

Yes — and it is something you will not find anywhere else. Mak1One is a well-known graffiti artist and part of the InAweStays family. A tour of Cape Town's street art with Mak1One is an experience exclusive to our guests.

Yes — this is Meyer's domain. Cold swims, mountain bike routes, Chapman's Peak, Boulders Beach, Cape Point, the Winelands. He knows exactly when to go and which road brings you back happy. Just ask.
